Day 2

Monday, May 14 -

We took a bus tour of London today, which was exciting except I was so tired so I fell asleep during it. But I did manage to catch the answer to a very important question! Why don't the British drive on the right side of the road? The tour guide told us it was actually very logical. Long, long ago when they used to fight while going down the road, they would need to be on the side of the road with the 'drivers'  right next to each other and be able to hold a sword with their right hand. So, the steering wheels are on the left and that's the side they drive on!

Then we went to tea and learned the origin of tea parties. They came about in the 1800s with Queen Victoria. She apparently got fed up with eating lunch at midday and then be hungry until dinner rolled around at like 8 or 9 in the evening. So, she started inviting her friends over for tea in the late afternoon. It really caught on and now it's super popular. They love their tea here.

I also went grocery shopping! Their store layout is weird and they have soup in cartons and they call Frosted Flakes Frosties.
