I almost had to do Eurovision all day again, but then something very dramatic happened! A Megabus pulled over on the M6 toll road and then police were called. The entire toll road was then shut down, police evacuated all 48 passengers on the bus, and more police, firetrucks and ambulances showed up. The passengers all had to sit on the pavement in a grid shape, surrounded by police officers as each of them were questioned and searched one by one. The bomb disposal team was called in and sniffer dogs aided with searches. Someone even put on a protective suit and went into the bus to search it. It was all very dramatic and the local news stations sent helicopters to the scene. I had to log the BBC's coverage of this, in case something big happened (like the bus exploding) and we needed the information. The police weren't talking to the press so we had to continue to monitor it for a few hours. Then it turned out
some passenger just had an electronic cigarette.
After that, nothing really happened for the rest of the day so I used my time productively and wrote a bunch of papers for class and almost finished writing my script for my package.
The Shard opened today in London and claimed the title of the tallest building in Europe. To celebrate, there was going to be a light show at night. So I set out down the river with some friends to go watch it. It turned out to be extremely disappointing and not really a show at all. They just lit up the building and changed the color a few times (not even fast or anything) and shot out like three lasers.

The Shard lit up yellow with a laser shooting out the side |

The Shard lit blue again (I guess they only had the three colors) with three lasers shooting out |

It's a really grainy picture, but you can see the lasers better. They didn't even move around. |
